in prague...

a couple months ago i went to prague to visit A and had a fabulous time as we visited our old favorite restaurants, took numerous walks, bought pottery in Poland, cooked up a scrumptious brunch, checked out the Czech Sephora, went on beautiful fall runs in the park, saw numerous cute dogs everywhere, road the tram and subway, lots of times to laugh, and realized i love being a kid with A at the age of 33!

wild horses, spanish moss, marshes, the beach and constant rain...

the clouds brought with them a drizzle, heavy drops, sun bursts and soaked clothes as we hiked our way north on Cumberland Island. what fun we had as we ate a quick lunch while it drizzled and didn't pour. what fun it was to see J making fun of the cute armadillos as they simply ignored him. and after having spent nearly our entire day soaked, the glorious sun came out to dry us off as we waited for the ferry.

a warm winter

spending a christmas and new year in weather that is around 78 degrees is quite a change for us from the Pacific NW! our first home on whidbey island brought a light coating of snow last year. we were thrilled to see the white coating and J thought for sure we would find snow around Baker to snow shoe. we threw on warm clothes, brushed our chops and grabbed our snow shoes and headed to Baker. the closer we got the more snow we found but not nearly enough for snow shoeing. we had a good laugh. what a feeling though to wake up to even a light dusting of snow in your yard. even if it looks like this!
